Parallel Perspectives

The Polaroid lift technique separates an image from its paper base, making it translucent and unstable. Seven layers of the same friendship, arranged on top of each other inside a transparent frame.

The multiplied image came from something the friendship itself suggested: the quantum physics idea that parallel lives exist simultaneously, and that certain people feel known before you know them. Not quite memory, not quite déjà vu. The technique made that feeling tangible.

The frame protects the images while keeping them visible from all sides. Present without being fixed.

Polaroids, acrylic glass, brass rods. 10 x 20 x 6 cm.
